Not many good games to talk about. Packers escaped from what would have been a disastrous loss to the awful Bears. Although Chicago may have something with Matt Barkley, kid shows grit. Jacksonville Jaguars fired coach Gus Bradley after an awful 2-12 start. Texans benched the $70 million Brocketship Osweiler as Tom Savage breeds some life into the Texans. The Browns almost won for the first time until a couple of late touchdowns by the Bill which will end up having zero impact on Rex’s job security. He is a goner and will be working for CBS come next fall. Ravens Eagles was close but Joe Flacco and the Ravens pulled it out. The Titans came back to beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead in a game that helps the shit out of the Patriots’ home field advantage chances. Steelers barely beat the Bengals how on earth does Marvin Lewis still have a job. Saints Cardinals looked like a Big 12 game as there were 89 points scored.

Two defensive battles occurred in East Rutheford and Denver. The Giants defense continues to be a more than formative group. There secondary has turned into one of the best and Olivia Vernon has proven to be worth every penny. Most importantly, they are playing tough. Lots of flying around and rough hits within the rules. Offensively, while not many improvements have been seen, Odell, Sterling and Cruz are as good of a receiving corp as they get and as long as they have Eli, the sky is the limit. In Denver, the Patriots offense didn’t look great against the top 5 Denver defense but made the plays when they counted. Julian Edelman is an absolute freak/third down converting/punt returning stud whose proving to be the top White Wide Receiver in the NFL. The Patriots defense is coming along and made plays all night. That McCourty hit at the end of the game on Demaryius Thomas is what makes him the top safety he is: the combination of tackling ability, toughness and closing speed. Patriots fans, we are on to New York. Everybody else: Sunday night football baby going to be an elite matchup.
