Redskins @ Cowboys
Jake: The Cowboys haven’t scored more than 7 points in a game since in like a month. What was once the best offensive line in football is playing like it has more holes in it than Sonny Corleone’s body in The Godfather. I don’t expect much to change tonight as the Redskins take care of business and get to .500.
Redskins 24 Cowboys 13
Jacobs: Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are in complete shambles since the loss of Ezekiel Elliott. They got embarrassed in front of the whole country on Thanksgiving day and now get another primetime matchup against the King of Primetime; Kirk Cousins. Without Sean Lee, the Cowboys D is swiss cheese and I think Kirk lights them up again, much like Phil Rivers did a week ago.
Redskins 28 Cowboys 24
Vikings @ Falcons
Jake: Sunday at 1:00 EST in Atlanta, Georgia we have what looks like to be the game of the weekend. Both teams are hot and playing winning football. Can Case Keenum continue to play like an elite Quarterback? We shall see, but I’m rolling with the Vikings as they look to keep on chasing the Eagles for home field advantage in the NFC
Vikings 30 Falcons 27
Jacobs: There is a lot on the line in this one, in what should be one of the best matchups of Week 13. The VIkes need to win to keep hope for home field alive, while the Falcons need a win just to stay in the playoff hunt in a tight NFC. The Vikings are one of the best teams in football, and I am a believer in what they are doing, but Atlanta is hot right now and looking like the team that was first half super bowl champs a year ago. I think they win a close game at home.
Falcons 27 Vikings 24
Texans @ Titans
Jake: The Texans are just too banged up to count on them to win football games especially with Tom Savage playing like the second coming of Kyle Boller in his prime. Meanwhile the Titans have the ability to take sole possession of first place in the division this weekend.
Titans 20 Texans 14
Jacobs: Last time these teams played, Houston won by about 50. That was also a simpler time, when Deshaun Watson was their starting QB. Tom Savage cant beat anybody by 50, nor can he beat anybody at all. Titans get the win, and remain atop the AFC South.
Titans 24 Texans 17
Chiefs @ Jets
Jake: The Chiefs are a shell of the team that started off the year 5-0. To put it in blunt terms, they are god awful. They followed up a loss to the lowly Giants two weeks ago to a loss verse the Bills. The Jets win at home and provide their fans with false hope that a Wild Card berth is a reasonable assumption.
Jets 20 Chiefs 17
Jacobs: Kansas City returns to the Meadowlands, the spot where their season went to shit a couple of weeks ago against the Giants. This is another game that they should win, but I honestly do not think they will win. It’s funny to me to see the Chiefs struggle like this, when everybody thought they were better than the Patriots in September. This game will be played in December, and the Chiefs suck.
Jets 24 Chiefs 20
Broncos @ Dolphins
Jake: The Broncos are playing like a soft bunch of losers this season having put their heads down the past 7 games losing all 7 of them. This is going to change on Sunday in Miami against a Dolphins team that is 2-3 playing at home this year.
Broncos 17 Dolphins 16
Jacobs: Two QB-less teams face off Sunday, in Miami where it looks like both Trevor Simien and Jay Cutler will be making their returns. Denver never should have benched Simien when Osweiler was the alternative, and he definitely gives them a better chance than Paxton Lynch. Cutler is also back for Miami. Not sure why I am writing about this game, because absolutely nobody cares.
Dolphins 21 Broncos 17
Colts @ Jaguars
Jake: Jaguars take care of business easy. Jacoby Brissett and the Colts offense will get next to nothing going against this elite Jaguars defense.
Jaguars 24 Colts 10
Jacobs: Jacoby Brissett and Blake Bortles are 2 of the 4 very best quarterbacks in the AFC South. The Jags actually do have the best defense in football, and this is going to be a long day for Jacoby.
Jaguars 21 Colts 7
Buccaneers @ Packers
Jake: After giving the Packers zero chance to do anything remotely close to successful with Brett Hundley under center, they gave the Steelers an extremely tough time this past Monday. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have probably been one of if not the most disappointing teams of the season. In Lambeau, look for Hundley to win his second win of the season to get back to .500.
Packers 23 Buccaneers 20
Jacobs: Brett Hundley looked like he started to figure some things out against Pittsburgh last week. The Buccaneers are also the perfect team to continue that roll against. I have a hard time seeing them going into Lambeau and winning, no matter who is under center for GB.
Packers 24 Buccaneers 17
Lions @ Ravens
Jake: Look for the Lions to bounce back after a tough Thanksgiving loss to the Vikings. The Ravens, coming in having won their past two games will be a tough out playing at home and fighting for a Wild Card spot but the Lions will take care of business in a tight one.
Lions 31 Ravens 27
Jacobs: Baltimore finds themselves at 6-5 and currently on the right side of the AFC Wild card picture. I think they do have a chance to sneak in the playoffs, but I don’t like them in this matchup with Detroit. Lions are playing well and have had some extra time off after losing a tough one on Thanksgiving. Baltimore on the other hand is coming in off a short week after Monday Night Football. I’ll take Detroit to cover, and win the game outright.
Lions 24 Ravens 20
Patriots @ Bills
Jake: Tom Brady is 26-3 in his career against the Buffalo Bills. Tom Brady is also 40 years old and still having one of his best statistical seasons in his career. Meanwhile, the Patriots defense has become sneakily great. Since Week 5, no defense has fewer points score against them. Expect the expected Sunday.
Patriots 38 Bills 14
Jacobs: The Patriots simply do not lose to the Bills, especially in the month of December. Pittsburgh may be looking ahead to their matchup with the Pats, but don’t expect Bill to allow his team to overlook the game at hand. With Gilmore returning to Buffalo playing at a high level, I think the Pats defense makes the Bills think about benching Tyrod again. Problem is, they now know they have no one else to turn to.
Patriots 31 Bills 13
49ers @ Bears
Jake: Jimmy Garropolo is getting his first start against the Bears in his hometown of Chicago. I personally am not buying into all the hype on him yet as he has only started 3 games in his entire career. I expect him to beat the Bears Sunday though to help the 49ers record their second win of the season.
49ers 27 Bears 20
Jacobs: The Jimmy G era has begun in San Fran, and all he did last week was throw a TD on his only attempt of the day. This dude is a stud, and it doesn’t get much easier than playing the Bears for your first start.
49ers 24 Bears 20
Browns @ Chargers
Jake: It needs not to be said that the winless Browns are an awful organization but I am going to say it anyways since Jimmy Haslam is terrible at running football teams. Not that Alex Spanos knows what he is doing but the Chargers are playing great football and look like a team that is destined to make the playoffs.
Chargers 35 Browns 17
Jacobs: This game should be the biggest blowout of the day. Browns are still the worst team in football, and San Diego is playing like one of the best recently. It will be interesting to see the attendance for this game in LA with winless Cleveland in town. Ill take the under on 10,000 and the Chargers giving 14.
Chargers 30 Browns 10
Raiders @ Giants
Jake: The Raiders are not a good football team this year. Good thing in Week 13 they have the good fortune of playing a terrible team in the Eli-less Giants.
Raiders 26 Giants 14
Jacobs: It is going to be strange to watch Big Blue without Eli, but the Geno Smith era has officially begun for the Giants. Even against the worst pass d in football, I don’t expect Geno to be able to do anything. I guess this is fine for the Giants, because I don’t think they want to win games at this point anyway. Tank mode.
Raiders 20 Giants 13
Panthers @ Saints
Jake: Great divisional matchup in the Bayou with the Panthers rolling in to the Big Easy. Two 8-3 teams where the winner takes sole possession in the NFC South. The last time these two teams played the Saints came out on top 34-13. Expect a much more competitive game as the Panthers are enormously better than they were in Week 3.
Saints 31 Panthers 30
Jacobs: The biggest game of the day is the battle for the NFC south, with 8-3 Carolina in New Orleans to play the 8-3 Saints. In the dome, I love the Saints here. I think they are a more balanced team than Carolina with the way they can run or throw it. Giving 4 at home, Give me the Black & Gold laying points.
Saints 28 Panthers 23
Eagles @ Seahawks
Jake: Another great matchup here with the best team in football and the Seahawks who are playing extremely competitive football. They are also extremely injured so it is tough for me to pick them over the Eagles but I do expect them to cover.
Eagles 24 Seahawks 20
Jacobs: Great game in Seattle with the best team in football in one of the toughest environments to play in. Philly has looked unbeatable, but they’re schedule has been pretty weak. It gets tougher, and I think Seattle can keep it tight on their home turf. All the MVP chatter around Wentz, I think Russell will have something to say about that before the season is over. Philly may win the game, but I like Seattle to cover the 6.
Eagles 28 Seahawks 24
Steelers @ Bengals
Jake: The Steelers love to play down to their opponents level in primetime. Well, the Bengals are not a good football team in 2017. I expect a sloppy and close one.
Steelers 23 Bengals 17
Jacobs: Mike Tomlin already told us that he was overlooking both the Bengals and the Ravens next week before the big matchup with New England in mid- December. That would make me nervous about this game if I was a Steelers fan. That said, the Bengals are just not very good and I don’t think they can compete with a surging Pittsburgh team.
Steelers 31 Bengals 20
